12 of 12 (v5.0) - August

And here we go with the proper post, finally! It was a work day and I left early at around 3pm, to get a coach up north to see friends - their oldest boy turns 3 today (17th), so it was the party weekend.

Approximate times because it's late and I'm tired, and really can't be bothered to get my camera to check them. Thanks as always to Chad for the idea, and here's the master list.

1) 7am - my flat, Lewisham, London

Photobucket

Switching the Blackberry alarm off. Don't like mornings.

2) 7:30am? - my flat, Lewisham, London

Photobucket

Drying my hair - arty shot.

3) 8am? - my flat, Lewisham, London

Photobucket

Picking up some reading for the coach ride. OK, these are the books I got for the birthday boy's little brother, so he would have something to open and enjoy while big bro is the centre of attention.

4) 8am? - my flat, Lewisham, London

Photobucket

Jeans into the suitcase, packing almost finished.

5) 8:50am ish - my office, Canary Wharf, London

Photobucket

I thought I was first on my team, but then saw a laptop on one desk (the owner being away getting a drink or something). It was my Italian manager's first day back in the office so I thought I'd be early/on time, and he wandered in at 9:30am (with a good excuse, he'd got back late the previous night from holiday, and found a cat trapped in the house). I was in early and he didn't see! :-(

6) 10am ish - my office, Canary Wharf, London

Photobucket

As I'd skipped the Starbucks run to be in early, I waited for my manager to say he was too busy to sit down and catch up with me, before I ran to make up my Starbucks need. You have to have one in my 12 of 12 each month!

7) Sometime early afternoonish - my office, Canary Wharf, London

Photobucket

Graduate colleague (Yang), who sits opposite me. I thought I might be needing photos, so he helped me out with one.

8) Sometime early afternoonish - my office, Canary Wharf, London

Photobucket

As we're supposed to be moving desks some time soon, I'd been going through my pedestal drawers, the 3 piles of papers at the edge of my desk, and the 2 big piles of expense reports on my pedestal - sorting, throwing away, recycling, scanning things into the harddrive. I'd nabbed an in/out tray from my American manager (who was just using it to dump stuff), and then I sorted my tidy desk into an organised tidy desk! I think I'd done this earlier in the week, but this shows you what it looks like now. When I first tidied and sorted it, it looked so lovely and professional officey, that I just sat smiling and looking at it for about 5 minutes! :D

9) Late afternoon - coach ride north, somewhere on the M1?

Photobucket

Megabus reflected in a car. Rain showers came and went, leaving reflective surfaces. Btw, bit of a mix up on my return journey and I missed my coach back to London - but Megabus sorted me out and got me back (via a driver picking me up and driving me to his coach, then driving me with his pre-booked passengers by coach to a train, and then me getting that train back to London. Can't recommend Megabus highly enough right now, their customer service is the best I've found of anyone).

10) Late afternoon - coach ride north, somewhere on the M1?

Photobucket

Pretty sky.

11) Late afternoon - coach ride north, somewhere on the M1?

Photobucket

Photobucket

A twofer, as I seriously couldn't narrow it down more, I liked both of these sunset photos!

12) 10pm ish? - Barnsley, Yorkshire

Photobucket

Relaxing with some wine, at my friends' house.

Bonus - midnight ish, Barnsley, Yorkshire

Photobucket

Book, sleeping bag, sofa, and lap to read by. Hey, if it means I can see my friends, I'll do it. Hotels would mean I just never saw my far away friends, and that would make me sad.

So that's your lot, hope you enjoyed it - sorry for the wait! I'll start reading a few people's 12s now, but the rest will be read soon. I'll leave comments, as I know we all like them! ;-)

Again such beautiful pictures of your day. Personally I love travelling and just don't do it enough any more. Missing it but like reading when others travel. Your sky pictures are so beautiful. The office pictures bring back memories from my days working in an office. Long time ago. Looking forward to your next month's photos.
Greetings from Germany

You posted! I hope you had a great weekend away visiting your friends. If the wine is an indication, I'd say it was good. The pre-sunsets are very pretty. Glad you got your Starbucks!

I'm so jealous... you even make "jeans in a suitcase" look great. :)

My favorite was the lamp, book and sleeping bag. Looks like an excellent place to crash for the night.

On-time or no, thanks for sharing your day!

Hi Helen, I'm glad you finally got your photos uploaded, better late than never, just like me with the late commenting :)

Have to say, your office chairs look incredibly comfortable, suspect some very long hours are done on them though.
Glorious photos as ever, especially the sunset.

Totally worth the wait (as usual)! I love the sky shots. And nice IKEA lamp in the last photo! We have the floor-length version of the shade.

HELLO!
I am so glad to see your post. I don't know how you do it, but you can make blue jeans in to a work of art. You have such an incredible eye. I have been so busy, I have been a terrible 12-of-12er. Sad because it's such an amazing way to see the world...and it's such a delight when I get to do it through your vision.
Are you on Facebook?

Great shots, as always. Loving the first sunset shot as well as the alarm clock shot idea - I might steal it for the next 12. :-) (with credit of course_)

I know September's not up yet, but it looks like I forgot to stop by again to see August!

I remember the Spot books -- I used to read them as a kid and may still have a few laying around the basement.
