Theme 148.
I swear, I didn't know (when I made the 366 list) that the Tennessee football team was called the Tennessee Volunteers. I knew my friend Kerri would sometimes say "Go Vols!" in posts online but I honestly and truly never gave it more than two seconds of curious pondering as to what "Vols" stood for. Plus, when I made this list, the trip to America was still only a pipe dream, and just as likely (or unlikely) to happen as me donating blood or running a 5K race (all of them on my 2008 goals list).
We took a drive up into rural Georgia, to visit the town of Helen, GA. I took a photo of two girls standing with placards by the side of the road, supporting a local politician. And I intended to use that photo, until I spotted this sign in a shop window. And figured hey, it was a funny - but still accurate! - spin on "volunteer"!
