I bought Nigella Lawson's Feast book not long ago, and I tried one of the recipes in it last week - penne alla vodka. Yeah, it was a surprise ingredient for me too ;-) Apparently it was big in Rome in the 60s. Who am I to argue?
I adjusted the quantities, as the book obviously caters to dinner party-sizes, but it made enough for 3 decent portions (maybe more if eating with garlic bread, salad and a starter and/or pudding). It was pretty yummy!
