178 - Spider webs

Theme 70.

Photobucket

After a trip to the Post Office yesterday morning, I noticed this by my front door (we have a little covered area in front of the door and it was between the roof of that and the little wooden pillar). As it was lightly raining, it showed up quite well, although it was a nightmare trying to get one of the 9 points on the camera to lock onto a strand of the web! In the end I used the Macro setting, which fired off the flash. It meant the background colours paled a little, but the web showed up well. The colours behind are the grass of my neighbours' lawn and a few of their planted tubs with flowers in.

I think this is my favourite so far. Love it!

This is great - I adore the colours behind, they have worked out really well.

A bit of serendipity I think!

I love this! Really, the colors are perfect (no matter if they are shown paler than what you wanted or saw) It's very elegant looking. Beautifully done!

We used to get huge orange spiders that would build amazing webs every night on our back porch, but this year they didn't show up. :(

(As for my font, I make it smaller. Sorry, I just like how the font looks when it's smaller. I'll make sure I keep it at the regular size, it's no good when people have to squint to read it! Let me know if I need to make it bigger than the normal size. :] )

That is outstanding! REally, really beautiful -- the color, the focus, the lighting. It couldn't be any better.

Just an outstanding capture of a difficult subject. Well done!

Nice, I like the colors in the background.

(You could of course bump up the saturation in photoshop to better match what you actually saw. Old school photographers would choose different films to get different color saturations.)
