173 - Doubtful

Theme 259.

Photobucket

This one's an oldie of sorts, from February this year (so still counts for 366). At the time, Will was about 6 months old. He's featured in my 366 challenge before, in "Discovery", "Tender", and "Paint".

Gem and Jon were trying to get him introduced to a variety of foods, and I think they were just beginning baby led weaning at this point. I think I'd just missed the Broccoli Incident, before I visited them (turns out it mashes well and Will got it everywhere - they even had to hoover the conservatory walls!).

This photo was when he encountered a hardboiled egg... In his high chair, with a cooled, peeled, hardboiled egg. The look of "What the hell is this?!? Oh, it rolls. Ooh hey, it almost bounces when you throw it on the floor! Ah they gave it me back. Goody - bash, bash, bash... let's try some now - ugh! You want me to eat this?"

I just remembered this photo the other day. I had asked Simon to pose for me for this theme, and he did so while we had a weekend in London with Andy and his girlfriend. But then I remembered Will's supreme doubt over the egg, and it won out. But thank you to Simon for being such a good sport!

The colour's not quite right - it was in the kitchen with the light on (tungsten I think?), and besides, you try keeping up with a 6 month old - you take what you can get! :P

I love the expression on his face.
The natural lighting is wonderful also.

Wow has he changed in the face since then! The light in there is halogen so a tad harsh for photos.

Nice pic though! x

Helen, what a gem of a photo! You can almost read his mind through the expression. Very funny, too.
