159 - Lonely

Theme 91.

Photobucket

Sometimes, we choose to be lonely. Like this girl, taking a break on the bank of the River Seine in Paris. A little quiet time :-)

(another very grey and washed out day, so I've adjusted the brightness, contrast and minimal shadow in Elements. Film gets better b&w from what I've heard, but I have no film SLR experience)

Nice landscape Helen and effective in B&W.

Do you shoot in B&W or use an action/program to convert it from colour?

Like this black and white photo, and yes, b/w film is better. I still miss using my film camera and shoot b/w film occasionally. But now it's so hard to find a store that will do a contact sheet for me...

And is the girl "alone," rather than "lonely"? Who knows?!

Black and white really is perfect for the lonely theme. I'd love to sit at the Seine, not necessarily by myself, just relaxing and enjoying some quiet time. :lovely: Wonderful picture.

It's beautiful in B&W, would LOVE a moment just like hers. :)
