135 - Soup

Theme 3.

Photobucket

After we have a roast chicken, Mum usually makes her special chicken soup. Boiling down the bones to make chicken stock, then adding a packet mix (there's sometimes golden vegetable, sometimes spring something or other), sweet corn and then usually peas, carrots and beans, sometimes potatoes (using up any excess cooked for the roast meal, or else tinned, but freshly cooked potatoes). It's much richer, creamier and slightly saltier than tinned soup, and also tastes fresher and less processed than canned soup, which always tastes fatty to me. In fact, Mum's is the only chicken soup I'll eat.

They'd bought a French baguette from a local shop, one of those small and slim ones that are just perfect for dunking in the soup!

The soup looks yummy. I'm not a soup fan (which makes this theme quite hard for me ), so for a soup to look yummy to me it must be a really good soup. I like the composition with the bread in the background.

Looks yummy... I'm not a soup fan either but I do enjoy chicken and turkey soup from the bones of the roast. The broth is also good poured over buttered noodles for a quick change.

Great composition.
