133 - Geek

Theme 357.

Photobucket

I am a Cary Grant fan, as close friends will know (though it seems that's not always a guarantee it's amazing what people forget). I'm currently on a mission to watch a Cary Grant film every night of July - so far, I've watched Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House, Indiscreet (both seen before) and tonight was Mr. Lucky for the first time (menacing Cary, oooh). So far, I'm succeeding in my challenge! It's been made possible by me buying the 21 film (18 disc) boxset of Cary films recently on sale on Amazon UK for £38. Even though I had some on DVD already (or had watched some but not got my own copy), it's still a bargain for the ones I'd not got/seen! With this plus my loose films, I have about 39 Cary Grant films, I think. I've also seen harder to find/lesser known films of his - anyone seen Night And Day, where he plays Cole Porter?

Does that qualify me for geekdom? ;-)

I had no idea he had so many films to his credit! I think I've only seen Arsenic and Old Lace and Indiscreet. Good idea for the theme - nice to be able to poke fun of yourself...

Back from vacation and trying to catch up on visits!

Love your arches; that shape is a favorite of mine.

Very soon, perhaps by the end of next week, I will be posting some photos of our Greek vacation, during which we were accompanied by a small Serbian traveler (mystery man...) who helped us see Greece through his eyes... Stay tuned...drop in.

Geek, you?! My mum loves Bringing up Baby and my fave of his is North by Northwest I think. I've not seen that many though... x

Definitely geekdom. But a very lovely geekdom. I didn't know there was a Cary Grant film where he played Cole Porter. Do they use his music in there? Do the actors actually sing? I've seen a Cole Porter musical here in Dresden sometime last year in which his life is told in his songs. It was a very lovely evening.

Whoa, how did you get this shot? Is it on the TV? It's really cool.

I had no idea he had so many films to his credit either. I've always thought I'd like old movies but I don't often watch them. You are making me want to start!
