Theme 48.
I'd been worrying a teeeensy bit about how many opportunities I'd get to do fog. Yesterday morning, I woke up to a reasonably nice day. Then, the mist came in. That kind where you could almost see the water vapour in the air (ever seen it in the bathroom, after a shower? Just like that). So I hastily dressed and ran out the house with my camera.
I took a few photos by my house, then went onto the road running behind our house - and saw this plant as I was walking up to the pub. I was trying to get photos of my breath misting as I walked, but they didn't work. I saw this plant, pointed the camera at it, shot, and continued on. Point, snap, move on, that quick.
And blow me, if it's not the best photo of that icy plant I could have taken. Seriously, if I'd stopped to frame it, get the focus points locked on the plant to blur the background, check the ISO and lighting, all that jazz - it would have been an OK photo. By not checking or taking any time other than literally two seconds... it turned out better than I could have achieved by taking care. Guess that's a lesson there ;-)
Anyhoo - photo! Hmmm, looks more vibrant green when viewed bigger in iPhoto, but oh well!

The green is beautiful on my screen. I love that it is a unscripted sort of shot. It has a neat vignette effect...
I was simply going to say it was pretty, but then Julie M went and made that look like a dumb comment lol!
I love the depth of field in the shot. There, that's better.
Neat seeing the build up of "Ice" on the green leaves. Nice picture!
Great photo! I find that my best learnings come from my "mistakes" or experiments. I'll often snap away until I get a "look" I like, and then start working around within that "look" but it's nothing I could have envisioned and set up out of my own head!
Very nice; the frosty leaves are eye-catching against the moodier background. Really like it.
I love this picture! I like that you can make out the tiny details of the ice on the leaves.
